One of the largest cities in South Africa and certainly one of the most beautiful, Cape Town lies in the shadow of the world famous Table Mountain and is renowned for it's sun-drenched beaches and world-class vineyards.  Located on the south-western tip of South Africa in the South Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town has many different sights, tastes and experiences to offer visitors.  The Victoria and Albert Waterfront, dating back to the nineteenth century, has many small shops and boutiques to tempt tourists, whilst Long Street is popular amongst admirers of the Cape Dutch architectural style.  The cable-car ride to the top of Table Mountain is often the defining moment in any visitor's stay in Cape Town, though a visit to Robben Island is also recommended - it is home to the prison which housed Nelson Mandela during the apartheid period.  The Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and the South African Parliament are also popular.  Further afield lies the Cape of Good Hope, the penguin colony on Boulders Beach, the Cape Wineland region, and the Bontebok National Park.

Cape Town is serviced by Cape Town International Airport, one of the busiest in all of Africa with five terminals in action and over eight million passengers through it's doors each year.  Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, 1Time, and South African Airways are amongst the airlines that use the complex.  Car hire is recommended for exploring the wider region, and there are many companies that are located within the arrivals hall of the international and domestic terminals.  Budget, Thrifty, Hertz, Avis, Europcar, National, Sixt and Imperial are all represented.
